This week I pulled the numbers on a post that did exactly what you'd want on the surface: strong views, steady likes, a few nice comments in the thread.
Then I checked what actually happened after someone saw it. There was no real questions in the replies. No DMs. Nobody clicked through to book a call or grab the Scorecard.
The view count told one story. The pipeline told another.
That gap is where most brands get stuck these days.
You’re watching the number that's easy to track, not the one that actually pays the bills.
Here's the thing: Views measure attention but they don't measure opportunity.
Attention is anyone who paused for two seconds. Opportunity is someone who saw a reason to act, to reply, to click, to raise their hand.
Those are two completely different metrics, and most dashboards only show you the first one.
This is exactly why my Attract → Activate → Multiply process works as a system instead of a vanity chase.
Attract gets the eyeballs. Activate is the part that turns an eyeball into a real signal: a comment, a DM, a click on the link in your bio. Multiply only happens once you have enough activated people to turn into referrals.
If you skip Activate, you're stuck refreshing the view count forever, wondering why a "good" post never turns into a client.
Not because the content was weak. Because attention was never the goal. Opportunity was.
What most solo founders miss is that most social platforms reward attention, so that's what they show you first.
Views, impressions, and reach are all easy to track, and they’re easy to feel good about.
None of it tells you whether a stranger became is the right lead, though.
A post with 200 views and 3 DMs beats a post with 20,000 views and silence, every time.
The real question isn't how many people saw it. It's how many people did something because of it.
So here's your next move:
Pull your last 5 posts and count DMs, replies, and link clicks next to each one, not views.
Circle the post with the fewest views but the most real engagement.
That's your format. Do more of that one, not the one with the biggest number.
That's the idea for this week.
THAT’S A WRAP
👉🏽 If you want my help figuring out how to turn more of the attention you’re getting into a semi-automated system that brings real opportunity and sales faster and easier, just hit reply.
And if this idea sparked something for you, forward it to someone who needs it.
Until next time.
